Hong Kong in three days: a plan by neighborhood
Use one day for Central and nearby streets, one for the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, and one flexible Lantau day. This Hong Kong example mixes urban walks and harbor views with a separate island outing. Keep the island day movable so you can respond to weather and operator notices.
A planning example, not a live timetable. Confirm opening days, reservations, access and transport for your dates.

Before you use this plan
This example assumes three full days after arrival and a place to stay with useful transport connections. Day order is flexible. Attraction visits, meals and transfers need their own time buffers; this is not a timed or accessibility-verified route.
Day 1 · Central at street level
Keep the first day around Central and nearby streets, with breaks and a waterfront finish if conditions suit. Make any hilltop visit optional and check the access route before adding it to the day.

Day 2 · Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront
Explore the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade and choose an indoor cultural stop such as the Hong Kong Museum of Art after checking current exhibitions. An optional Star Ferry crossing can be part of the outing; check its service before setting a time.

Day 3 · A separate Lantau outing
Make the Ngong Ping and Big Buddha area the main Lantau outing. Allow for the outward and return journeys from Tung Chung, and check the relevant operator before choosing a cable-car or bus connection. Keep other island areas for another day.

Adjust it to your trip
Move the island outing if conditions are poor, and substitute a confirmed indoor attraction near your accommodation. If the group prefers less walking, use shorter waterfront sections and allow extra time for station access.
What should I budget for?
Allow separately for accommodation, local transport, meals and optional admission tickets. This guide does not quote a total price. Check current fares, venue prices and reservation rules using the official references, then record your own estimates in your plan.
Check for your travel dates
- Check opening days, ticket availability and operator notices before assigning times.
- Review weather and transport changes, and keep an indoor or shorter option.
- Confirm walking distances, steps and access needs for everyone traveling.
